Dolly’s Emotional Health Update

Dolly Parton has shared a heartfelt health update after canceling her planned Las Vegas residency.

The country music legend was originally set to perform a string of shows at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. The concerts were first postponed from December 2025 to September 2026, but Dolly has now confirmed they will not go ahead as planned.

In a video message to fans, the 80-year-old said she had both good news and bad news.

The good news was that she is responding well to medication and treatment. She said she is improving every day and remains hopeful about her recovery.

The bad news is that she is not yet ready to return to full stage performance.

Dolly explained that some of her treatments have made her feel “swimmy-headed,” a phrase she said her grandmother used. She joked that she cannot be dizzy while carrying banjos, guitars, big hair, rhinestone outfits, and five-inch heels.

In true Dolly style, she used humor to describe her health journey.

She compared herself to an old classic car that needs repairs before it can get back on the road. She said that once restored, it can be better than ever.

The singer also opened up about some of the health issues behind the cancellation.

She said she has dealt with kidney stones for years and that her immune and digestive systems had become “out of whack.” Doctors are now working to rebuild and strengthen her health.

Even while stepping back from the stage, Dolly made it clear that she is not retiring from life or work.

She said she is still recording, making videos, working on her Broadway musical, and helping prepare new projects in Nashville.

Her upcoming musical, Dolly: A True Original Musical, remains one of the projects she is focused on.

Dolly also apologized to fans who had tickets for the Las Vegas shows. She encouraged them to still visit and enjoy themselves, even though she would not be performing.

Fans quickly filled social media with emotional messages.

Many said they were heartbroken by the cancellation but relieved to hear she is getting better. Others praised her for delivering difficult news with warmth, humor, and kindness.

One thing fans seemed to agree on was simple: Dolly’s health comes first.

Her update also came after months of concern. In October 2025, her sister Freida Parton asked fans to pray for Dolly, which led to worry online. Dolly later reassured supporters that she was still fighting, healing, and staying positive.

That same spirit came through again in her latest message.

She did not hide the struggle.
She did not pretend everything was easy.
But she also refused to lose her spark.

For many fans, that is what made the update so emotional.

Dolly Parton has spent decades giving people music, laughter, comfort, and hope. Now, the people who love her are sending that same love back.

The Las Vegas shows may be canceled.

But Dolly’s message was clear: she is healing, she is working, and she is not done yet.
