Tilly and Anthony ended up sharing a shower shortly after they were introduced to one another
Sharing a shower with someone can feel like a very personal experience. Yet this particular pair ended up stepping into the shower together less than 24 hours after they first met.
Tilly and Anthony had only just been introduced to each other, and they came from completely different lifestyles, beliefs, and backgrounds. Even so, they soon found themselves standing side by side while washing up together.
It certainly makes for a memorable way to break the ice between two people who had only just become acquainted.
The pair were not simply sharing a shower to conserve water or save time. They are actually taking part in a competition where the winners could walk away with a prize worth about $125,000.
Along with 16 other contestants from across the UK, barmaid Tilly and business owner Anthony appear on Jonathan Ross’ unusual new Channel 4 series, Handcuffed: Last Pair Standing.
The show follows a bold concept. Two people who are complete opposites are physically handcuffed together for more than two weeks while they travel across the UK on a road trip.

The participants often have very different views, habits, lifestyles, and personalities. Pairing such opposite individuals together is expected to create plenty of tension and unusual moments.
For instance, one pairing on the show includes a self-described prude and an adult film performer. The producers intentionally matched them to highlight the contrast between their lifestyles.
The program hopes that in what many describe as a divided Britain, people who seem completely different will end up talking, listening, and perhaps even learning something from each other.
During the opening episode of Handcuffed: Last Pair Standing, host Jonathan Ross explains the challenge to viewers by saying: “They have to live together and do absolutely everything side-by-side. Everyone is handcuffed to their total opposite.”
On the show, Tilly, a barmaid from North London, was paired with Anthony, a 60-year-old from Sussex who runs a luxury classic car hire business.
Because they are literally chained together, the two contestants must complete everyday tasks side by side, from traveling to eating and even basic daily routines.

The pair first traveled to Anthony’s impressive home, where they seemed to get along fairly well. Even so, that did not make the situation of showering together feel any less awkward.
Some of the other contestants chose to wear blindfolds while bathing with their partners in order to keep a sense of privacy and modesty.
However, Tilly and Anthony decided not to bother with that approach. Instead, they casually dropped their robes and stepped straight into the shower.
“We only met yesterday and we’re stark bollock naked in the shower together,” Tilly said with a laugh while trying to politely look away from Anthony’s naked body.

The moment became even more comedic as she struggled to find a place to focus her eyes while standing in the shower. She then turned toward the camera and silently mouthed: “I’ve just seen his c**k!”
Later, Anthony spoke about the situation during the show’s press launch and explained why they chose to handle the awkward moment so calmly.
“It was fine,” he said. “We actually said if we can’t do this, then we can’t do what they’re all going to ask about lavatorial things…we might as well give up!”
“Let’s just pretend we’re six year olds and we’ll just get on with it.”
The first two episodes of Handcuffed: Last Pair Standing are currently available to watch on Channel 4. The third episode will air next Monday (9 March).
